January 2005
Trip Report by PE David Ting, Photos by
PP Dennis Wong
We have
been very well received by our sister club Rotary Club of Taipei
Chungshan. President
Rich Chen arranged us to stay
at his big house and organised a lot of functions
during our stay, namely a full-day vocational
service with visits to a pottery factory and a
glass museum on Saturday 15 January 2005. On
Sunday 16 January we participated in the Rotary Centennial road
running organised by District 3520. RI
President-elect Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar
and the Vice Mayor of Taipei were there, too. We
also met the DG Pauline Leung
of District 3520 (a nice lady [who]
came from Macau) and we have taken photos with
her for the Internet. In return, Rotary Club of
Taipei Chungshan will visit Hong Kong from 26 to
28 February and their delegation may reach 10
persons (some runners for the Marathon and their family
members. As we know, PP James, PP Omar, PP
Golden, President Rich and their families, as
well as Rotarianne Lisa, Rotarianne Grace
and Rotarianne Joyce will certainly come.
