Dr Polly Cheung, Founder of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, is our guest speaker. She explains the mission of the foundation in education, support of breast cancer patients, and advocacy in different areas concerning breast health, patient care, and breast cancer prevention.
¡@
Dr Cheung gives us an update on the statistics of incidence and mortality of breast cancer, the most common form of cancer for women in Hong Kong...
¡@
...and explains that breast cancer mortality can be reduced by regular mammogram screening, and that how the risks of incidence may be lowered by lifestyle change (having babies, breast-feeding, minimize taking oestrogens, reduce meat/fat intake, increase fresh vegetables/fruits, having a plant-based diet and more exercise).

Dr Cheung also elaborates on the need of building a reliable, accurate breast cancer data bank to support research, patient care and helath policy making..

Our guest speaker Mr Lee Hung Gun tells a truly touching and personal story on taking care a most beloved patient of the Alzheimer's disease.

Mr Lee has been invited by PP So Kin Shing, a long-time friend of decades.

Mr Lee introduces the basic information on the disease, casts away our misunderstandings, describes what support is available to both the patient and the caretaker (e.g. the Hong Kong Alzheimer Disease Association), and raises our concern for Alzheimer's disease victims

Our club donates the day's Red Box contributions to the Hong Kong Alzheimer Disease Association through the purchasing of Mr Lee's autobiography "Memories Lost and Found" - a chronicle of his life taking care of his beloved wife, a sufferer of the disease, in recent years.
