What are the Four Avenues of Service? The Object
of Rotary is to encourage and
foster the ideal of service as a basis of
worthy enterprise and, in particular, to
encourage and foster: 2. Vocational Service - Rotarians to serve others through their vocations, to practice high ethical standards in business and professions, and to promote the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations. 3. Community Service - Undertaking projects and activities to improve life in their community. Emphasis is given to helping children, needy families, the aged, the handicapped, and those most in need of assistance. Rotarians strive to promote the ideal of service in their personal, business, and community lives. 4. International Service - Expanding Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe and promoting international understanding and peace through a world fellowship of business and professionals united in the ideal of service.
