President's
Message
The Rotary Theme
for this year is Lead the Way.
As pointed out by our R1 President, Bill
Boyd, we must always be open to the need
for changes. Therefore, we must
look ahead to new challenges, new
responsibilities and new
opportunities. To fulfil our role
as Rotarians, we are always expected to
serve the communities to build a better
future.
With the tremendous talent our club has
among our members, both professionally
and businesswise, let us "Lead the
Way" to try our very best to take up
new challenges which would create new
opportunities for us to serve our
communities.
To meet this end, I pledge to do my
utmost to lead the way to attend all
meetings and activities organised by our
Club, to encourage Directors and members
to do the same and to provide ideas and
suggestions on how to devote and direct
more effort to each of the four Avenues
of Service in order to reach the Object
of Rotary bearing in mind that water,
health and hunger, literacy
and the family of Rotary
are the emphases for this Rotary Year.
Since I have officially taken up the
Presidency on 1 July 2006, our Club has
submitted with the full support of
Directors and members, a District
Simplified Grant application together
with Rotary Club of Kingspark Hong Kong
as our partner. Our Club has also
inducted a new Rotary member within the
first month of the New Rotary Year.
Therefore with the Rotary spirit and the
unfailing support of the Board of
Directors and members, let's lead the way
to make this year a memorable one.
Francis Chan
President 2006-2007
Rotary Club of City Northwest Hong Kong
