For
most Rotarians and Presidents, October is the
time that mark a stable period into the Rotary
year-after the installation in July and having
had a few months of settling into the new roles
in this Rotary year, all are surging ahead with
their Club plans and service programmes/projects.
For
me too, this month is a vigorous planning time.
Searching and inviting the caring and conscientious
experienced past presidents to serve on the district
level indeed is a task that needs careful handling.
Training future leaders is one of the vital goals.
The Presidents Elect Training Seminar (PETS) will
take place on 9 March, 2002; the Assistant Governors
Training on 23 February, 2002 and the District
Assembly on 20 April, 2002. Time has been spent
on invitations to fill up the roles of the Chairmanship.
I
believe once the various district team chairmen
have accepted the invitations, plans and further
recruitments will be carried out. And like those
years past, Rotary will be running like clockwork.
On
17 October, I will start with the first part of
my training in the role of a Governor in Kuala
Lumpur, a few days before the start of the Rotary
Institute. The second part will take place in
Anaheim, USA in late January, 2002. I do hope
by then I will be in a better position to bring
back fresh ideas to inject into all the events
I mentioned above.
With high hopes of learning new things and getting
more information there upon having my new ideas
developed, I am on my way to GETS in KL.....
from
Governor
Elect,
Gloria Chan.
