The estimated cost for the trip should be a bit less than HK$4,000 which includes round trip air-ticket from Shenzhen, 1 night accommodation in Shenzhen and 1 or 2 nights in An Qing and food and traveling.- Our visiting to Home of Loving Faithfulness Fellowship is tentatively changed to 18th November 2006. Date to be confirmed soon.
Acting SAA PP Rudy announced the intake for the day was $1,100. We had an attendance of only 14 members today and almost every one present made a contribution.
Next Dir. Norman came up to introduce our guest speaker today who is Mr. Masaaki Yasukawa of Seiko Epson Corporation who will talk about Digital Arts produced by Epson Technology. He started by showing us some very big original painting by various artist of Japan and Europe and showed us some scanned copies of the originals which show that there are practically no difference between copies and the original. Not only that they can make such good copies but can make huge reproductions to cover big advertisement boards. As to how they can do such excellent work is the trade secret of his company. "With this high technology talk, the speaker aroused many questions from the floor, such as (Q) Can we reproduce bank note ?
(A) Yes! the digital printing is so real that we could hardly identify the faults. But don't do it, he said."Rtn Charles then came up to give our vote of thanks for such an interesting talk and asked everyone to thank the speaker in our usual Rotarian manner.
Pres. Paul then closed our meeting by making a toast to RI coupled with the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island East.
