The highlight of the meeting was the two speakers, Ms. Barbora Seigrist and Amanda Diep from Hong Kong Wealth Management Ltd. Their company is a subsidy of National Australia Bank and have AUD$65 million asset under their management.
First, Amanda told us about the "Money Personality" and to have proper financial plan from a financial advisor instead of going to someone whose advice might be product driven and not as an independent professional. Also one has to gauge his risk profile to decide what and where to invest. Barbora then told us more about the Financial Traits which could be classified into the following:
î Involvement
î Pride
î Emotionality
î Altruism
î Anxiety
î Power
î Work Ethic
î Contentment
î Risk Taking
î Self Determination
î Spending
î ReflectivityShe also classified your Money Profile into:
î Entrepreneur
î Hunter
î High Roller
î Safety Player
î Achiever
î Perfectionist
î Money Master
î Producer
î OptimistBy working out a matrix of these financial traits and your money profile, then you would know what is your "Money Personality".
Due to the popularity of the subject topic, the speakers agreed to send their presentation in powerpoint to us through VP Jason.
Finally, President Rudy closed the meeting by making a toast to R.I. coupled with R.C. of Niigatta in memory of the recent earthquake there.

Foundation Grants Simplified
In 2002, The Rotary Foundation trustees simplified the Humanitarian Grants structure and replaced some of the grants programs with individual Grants and District Simplified Grants.
Individual Grants which replaced Volunteers and Discovery Grants, support the travel of individual Rotarians planning or implementing service project abroad. Volunteers must serve in a country other than their own at the invitation of the host Rotary Club.
District Simplified Grants serve the same needs as Helping Grants, Humanitarian Transportation Grants, Community Assistance Program Awards and New Opportunity Grants, all of which were phased out on 1st Jan. 2003. These grants, which support the service activities on humanitarian endeavours of districts, are funded by DDF of the participating district.
Jokes & Cartoon for the week
More Lawyer's Jokes
A dog ran into a butcher shop and grabbed a roast off the counter. Fortunately, the butcher recognised the dog as belonging to a neighbour of his. The neighbour happened to be a lawyer. Incensed at the theft, the butcher called up his neighbour and said, "Hey, if your dog stole a roast from my butcher shop, would you be liable for the cost of the meat?"
The lawyer replied, "Of course, how much was the roast?"
"$7.98."
A few days later the butcher received a cheque in the mail for $7.98. Attached to it was an invoice that read: Legal Consultation Service: $150.
-------------------------------------------------------
"I'm beginning to think that my lawyer is too interested in making money."
"Why do you say that?"
"Listen to this from his bill: 'For waking up at night and thinking about your case: $250."
