Fellow Chairman PP George and Rotarians introduced their guests:
Rtn. Brian presented a banner from the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, Cayman Island. Announcements: 1. 5 July, Thursday: Regular luncheon meeting cancel. Members are encouraged to sign up for District Installation, of which the attendance will be credited as a make-up. 2. 6 July, Friday : District Installation at HK Convention & Exhibition Centre. The directors have decided to subvert attendance from club funds by the amount of $165. This plus the credit of $165 for the cancelled lunch meeting on July 5 reduces the cost of attending to only $170 ($500-$165-$165). 3. Mr. James Colins presented a check of HK$3,000 for donation to the leper project during the meeting. 4. A gift was presented to Rtn. Francesco for his efforts on organizing the joint annual ball - Middle Kingdom Extravaganza, successfully held on 5 May 2001. 5. President Bob gave a summary report on his presidential year of 2000-01. President Bob will prepare a written detailed report for circulation to members. 6. A simple but formal handover ceremony was conducted by President Bob to Incoming President Kishore. 7. On behalf the members, PP Nick thanked the new IPP Bob for his contribution and achievements during his presidential year 2000-01. 8. 4 July, Wednesday: First Directors' meeting for they year 2001-02 at Kishore's office at 8/F, Henley Building, 8 Queen's Road Central. All members are welcome to attend. Sergeant-at-Arm PP Nick announced that fines and contributions totaled HK$1,600, the raffle raised HK$400, making a total of HK$2,000. The Birthday Boy for this week was IPP Gary, who paid PP Paul to sing. Everyone was invited to drink the customary toast to the Rotary International and with that the meeting ended. |
