Our Fellowship Chairman welcomed all Rotarians and Guests, including Mr. Karl Kwok,  guest of PP Gaston and our speaker Mr. Jon D’Almeida.

The leading seller for the raffle tickets till now is PP George, followed by IPP Bernie and Rtn Francesco.  Since we still have more than half of the tickets needed to be sold, we hope every member put more effort on selling the tickets.

In November and December, there are a number of exciting Fellowship Events to be held, including the Club Golf Tournament on 14th November, the District Golf Tournament on 19th November, a Poolside BBQ on 20th November and our Christmas Party on 18th December.  Thank our Fellowship Chairman Francesco for his contributions in organizing these excited activities.  Besides, Francesco will organize the Club Golf Tournament every month. Details will be announced later.

The Osaka Conference will be held from 23rd to 26th May 2004 in Osaka, Japan.  In order to get the early bird discount, we need to submit the applications before 15th December 2003.  In addition, we also have to check with the hotel so as to ensure all of us can accommodate in the same hotel.

Our speaker today was Mr. Jon D’Almeida, and his topic was entitled “Rotary Excellence in Leadership Course for Youth”.  Mr. D’Almeida is the Executive Director of Outward Bound Hong Kong.  In 1970, Outward Bound Hong Kong was founded with an aim to provide all-round development for the local people. Outward Bound helps people discovering and developing their potentials to care for themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings.

Mr. D’Almeida introduced us a proposal, which involved a course called “Rotary Excellence in Leadership Course for Youth”.  He declared that the course is suitable for young person from 18 to 25 years old to attend a vital 18-day course.  He suggested us to nominate one of our member’s son or daughter to join the course.  And our club have to sponsor HK$10,900 and the participant just need to pay $1,160 for the whole course.
