President
Peter announced that our Club got the Certificate of Achievement for achieving
the Highest Contribution to Restricted Giving for the Rotary Year 2003-2004.
It is the combined effort of every donation contributed by members. PP
Kishore then donated US$5,000 to the Rotary Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund.
PP
Gaston requested that members possessing used mobile phones preferably with
their chargers and still in good condition (GSM network) be donated to his
friend. They will go to Uganda for
use by NGO’s for communication and may be re-sold to raise money.
Members can deliver the phone to Lillian’s office at Room 1403, 9
Queen’s Road Central.
President
Peter has attended the JPM in Macau, the membership for this year increased by
about 100, most of them from the 3 new clubs in Mongolia.
The District Installation will be held on 5th July at the
Miramar Hotel, we have 11 members signed up.
We will have an informal dinner on 25th June to get together
all incoming and current directors as well as all Past Presidents to discuss the
development of the club. Tonight is
the last draw of Club 888 2003-2004, and the 1st prize of a gift
coupon for HK$5,000 went to Mr. David Fung.
President
Peter proposed support for the West Island Line by the MTRC, because the other
suggestion of the Route 4 highway is detrimental to the environment in the
Southern District. Rotary Club of
Hong Kong South need to be aware of the concerns of our community, so we need to
support the West Island Line instead of Route 4, we will donate funds to the
Save Our Shoreline campaign.
Our
speaker today is Ms Dilshad Shroff, and the topic is “The importance of
balancing your Charkas – Energy Centers”.
Ms Shroff is a master practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programme, she has
7 years of professional counseling experience.
Chakras Therapy is part of Yoga, she said every person has 7 centres in
the body, which is 7 Chakras and different Chakras have different colors.
So the Chakras need to absorb the right color to improve the function of
the corresponding part of the body. All
Chakras are connected, if one Chakra is closed, the other Chakras needs to get
overblown or over active. So, it is
required to reopen the Chakra first by stimulation by the right color, for
example drink the water in a correctly colored water pot after it has been
solarized. Chakra Therapy in India is very common, they have many centers and
have proven this therapy useful.
