A well attended dinner meeting was enjoyed by all at which we welcomed the company of several guests including Mrs. Doeringer, her friend Ingrid, Mrs. Cavazzoni and Mrs. Shirley Li.

The Secretary made announcements of several District events including a Table Tennis competition, a continuation of the Centennial Maclehose Trail walk this weekend and a happy hour get together at Madison's Restaurant in Central on Jan. 31st. All details are available from Jack if anyone is interested.

Our speaker was Dr. Kay Fung from Hong Kong Wealth Management who briefed us on the current technical and analytical trends in the stock and commodities markets. The conclusion that was to be drawn was that we are in uncertain times and the volatility and unpredictability of the markets might well suggest that it is time to look at safer principal protected alternatives for our investments. Dr. Fang's suggestion was that we should look at investing in interest or coupon paying structured notes with duration of between 2 and 10 years. Tobi was kind enough to give the vote of thanks to Dr. Fung and his team.

The January Club 888 draw was drawn successfully due entirely to the fact that the two comperes were magnificently assisted by Mrs. Li, Mrs. Cavazzoni, Mrs. Doeringer and of course Ingrid.
