Our Fellowship Chairman today was PP George and our Sergeant-at-Arms was Rtn Francesco. Our Sergeant-at-Arms managed to collect $1,630 between the raffle and fines as IPDG Alex donated $500.

President Tobias was not in town, so Rtn Stephane was the acting President of today. He announced that the District Conference would be held on 22-23rd of April 2006 at Regal Airport Hotel. The RI Convention, in addition, would be held on 11-14th of June 2006 at Copenhagen and Malmo. Further, Acting President Stephane announced that Club of Hong Kong East as our mother club is our official preferred make-up Club. Its regular lunch meeting is held at Excelsior Hotel on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the raffle prize of today was a bottle of red wine. And today we had a birthday boy, PP Paul, to whom we were happily singing the birthday song and presented a birthday gift.

Our Club is organizing the District Sports Day, and the event will be held on 19th February. While our Dinner at Atoll Reef of Ocean Park will be held on 19th January, the sign up sheet is ready for members.

The speaker of today was PDG Anthony Hung and his topic was "Rotary Foundation Work in India". PDG Anthony just came back from India for the District Conference, he said that in India they had had a lot of Rotary Clubs and Rotarian, and they had inducted over 300 women members just for one year. In addition, the district had donated a lot of money to Rotary Foundation, while their target of this year would be US$250,000, they had a lot of wealthy members who would be willing to give. Despite the developed city in India, the countryside people were still poor and their living standard was very low, especially for the sanitation situation. The India people used to throw everything into the river, which had contaminated the water and had made people sick. The work of Rotary was educating people the knowledge of sanitation, and was giving them choice to be educated.
