Our Fellowship Chairman today was PP George and our Sergeant-at-Arms was PP Tom. Our Sergeant-at-Arms managed to collect $920 between the raffle and fines.

Today President Tobias announced that the District Conference would be held between 22nd and 23rd of April 2006 at Regal Airport Hotel and we have just one member signed in, we hope we will have more members attend. The RI Convention, on the other hand, would be held from 11th to14th of June 2006 at Copenhagen and Malmo.

On the other hand, President Tobias will host the PP Dinner on 10th April (Monday) at Aberdeen Boat Club. And we will have joint meeting with Rotary Club of Hong Kong in 9th May at Bankers Club, the speaker is Dr. Jim Walker, who is the Chief Economist of CLSA.. 

The speaker of today was PP Rafael Aharoni and his topic was "Membership". He is responsible for the membership development of the District and he is the Past President of Rotary Club of Wanchai. PP Rafael has visited to many different countries and realized that different Rotary Clubs will have different rules in membership; some only have one member in each field. Members are the most important thing in the club, so we need to recruit new members, Rotary Club of Wanchai have 5 new members on this year, which is very good progress. To achieve the goal, PP Rafael suggested that all members need to introduce one of their good friends to join the meeting and explain clearly what is Rotary and what is their responsibility, just similar and casual as you introduce a good restaurant to your friends. Also, the District has more budgets on the publicity to make more people know about us. And for the member retention, clubs must have interesting speakers and good projects to get members involve. It is not hard to do, just begin to do it.
