Our Fellowship Chairman today was PP Paul and our Sergeant-at-Arms was PP Gary. Our Sergeant-at-Arms managed to collect $930 between the raffle and fines.

Today President Tobias would be late, and he had kindly asked PP Bernie to be the Acting President. Fellowship Chairman PP Paul introduced the visiting Rotarian from Zurich, Dr. Andreas Kellerhals and his wife Dr. Esther Nageli. When our President Tobias Doeringer arrived and he announced that the District Conference would be held between 22nd and 23rd of April 2006 at Regal Airport Hotel, while we had just one member signed in, we hoped we that we would have more members attend. The RI Convention, on the other hand, would be held from 11th to14th of June 2006 at Copenhagen and Malmo.

On the other hand, President Tobias will host the PP Dinner on 10th April (Monday) at Aberdeen Boat Club. While we will have joint meeting with Rotary Club of Hong Kong on 9th May at Bankers Club, the speaker will be Dr. Jim Walker, who is the Chief Economist of CLSA. The speaker of today was Mr. Martin Hennecke and his topic was "Helicopter - Ben and Precious Metals". Martin is an investment advisor with Bridgewater based in Hong Kong , and is a regular guest on TV and radio. In addition, he writes for several newspaper and magazines. He said, "The most important investment theme will be a price surge in tangible assets like gold, silver and various commodities against all major world currencies". He also said that there were good reasons to believe the use of gold in many applications would increase, and the paper currency in history would ultimately end in failure once deficit spending would get out of control. Also, gold usage had been suppressed due to central bank bullion leasing during the last ten years. Once buy back, prices should rise dramatically. Martin said silver and gold are limited resources, so the prices will go up as they will be exhausted.
