Our Fellowship
Chairman today was PP Paul and our Sergeant-at-Arms was VP Stephane.
Our Sergeant-at-Arms managed to collect $1140 between the raffle and
fines. Today
President Tobias announced that the District Conference would be held between 22nd
and 23rd of April 2006 at Regal Airport Hotel, while we had just
four members signed in, we hoped that we could have more members attend. The RI Convention, on the other hand, would be held from
11th to14th of June 2006 at Copenhagen and Malmo.
We
will have joint meeting with Rotary Club of Hong Kong on 9th May at
Bankers Club and the Board decided the club will cover the difference in the
lunch fees. On the other hand,
District Assembly will be held on 13th May (Sat) at Kowloon
Shangri-la Hotel. In addition, District has organized a tour to visit and
participate the charter dinner for Rotary Club of Beijing and Shanghai on 20th
-23rd May. The speaker of today was Mr. Garry
Stuchbery from IPAC Financial Planning and his topic was “What is the
Lifestyle Financial Planning”. Garry
has been in the financial services industry since 1978 and during this time he
has gained extensive experience, principally in the areas of financial
planning, estate planning and risk planning.
Garry said no one plans to fail but only some people fail to plan, so
planning is so important. Also,
the life expectancy has been extensively increased.
While people have longer life expectancy in addition to many changes in
society, we need to prepare for our retirement.
Thus, they help their clients to build a financial plan, monitor the
progress and help hit the target. Garry
said “Getting
started is probably the hardest part of a retirement plan. However, the longer you put off taking action, the more
difficult the task becomes. If you start sooner, you can take advantage of the
power of compounding to create wealth”.
