The speaker of today was Ms. Ellen McNally. Her topic was "Turning a Passion into Community Service - How 11 HK writers compiled a successful collection of Children's stories." The collection includes stories by: Sam Jam, Tony Lee, Laura Ros, Christine Morgan, Eva Ng, Nirmala Nagarajan, Shane Sakhrani, Arlene Brenda Siagian, Ellen McNally, Maxine Shaw, Ruchita Malhotra.

"The writers involved in this project had the idea of composing a book of short stories for children to raise money for Friends Unlimited, an organisation which supports underprivileged people in Hong Kong. This wonderful charity provides educational tutoring, children's leisure activities and small business mentoring as well as a range of other services. And it's wonderful that several local businesses and professionals have supported the project with their sponsorship." -- Nury Vittachi

Ellen said the book sold very well in book store and she was happy that people love all the stories in the book. While we bought 2 books for raffle; we would, in addition, buy more for the students involved in the English Dialogue Session as a gift.
