Our Fellowship Chairman today was IPP Tobias and our Sergeant-at-Arms was Rtn Jim. Our Sergeant-at-Arms managed to collect $745 between the raffle and fines.

President Thomas announced that the Board Meeting will be held on 27th March (Tue) at The Chater Lounge, The Ritz Carlton Hotel at 7:00pm. The 47th District Assembly will be held on 28th April at Hong Kong Jockey Club Shatin Club House. Finally, the Spring Dinner and Club 888 Lucky Draw will be held on 15th March (Thu) at the China Club.

PP Bernie said we only 188 tickets until today, and we have the draw on next Thursday, so we need to sell more tickets for the community service projects.

Today we had Ms. Anne Chuah to talk about “Food Testing”. Anne is the Division Head of Chemical and Food Department of Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre, responsible for handling a wide range of testing in food, health supplement, chemicals, consumer products, and pharmaceuticals, environmental and microbiological assessments.

Anne was mention about the malachite green, nitrofurans and chloramphenicol from fresh water fish may cause cancer to human being but is good for the productivity of fish. Also the farmer use Sudan dyes on poultry’s feed will make the egg yolk color more beautiful but harmful for our health.
