The Rotary Club of Kingspark Hong Kong
Message from President Joyce
Hi, I am Joyce, President for the year.
The 2008-2009 theme of Rotary International is Make Dreams Real. For over 14 years Rotary Club of Kingspark Hong Kong has sponsored various service projects to benefit our community. This year, we will organize a children literacy project, which will not only provide good quality books for children, but will also promote parent-children bonding through reading story books aloud. We aim to heighten community awareness on literacy and we believe this will enhance communication within the community in general and between parents and children in particular. We will continue with our Adopt-A-School program with Ho Tung Secondary School to provide much professional advice and guidance to them. Moreover, youth service projects such as our signature project - Career Talk will continue to feature in our programmes. We plan to maintain the strong links with our sister clubs in Taipei and Bangkok and have planned tovisit Chingmai for a joint service project.
Rotary International President D. K. Lee has asked the world's 1.2 million Rotarians to give particular consideration to the millions of children who never even have the chance to dream. Let's Make Dreams Real by giving these children the chance to grow up and have dreams of their own. The world's Rotarians have also determined to end polio this year. The disease has been eradicated in all but four countries. Rotary Club of Kingspark Hong Kong will do its share by asking its members and the community at large to give generously to the final stage of this heroic effort. Our aim, as always, is to help ensure a better quality of life in our community and the world. Let's Make Dreams Real.
I am glad to be asisted by the follow Rotarians on the Board -
President-Elect and Membership Chair, Michael Eyles; Vice President and Public Relations Chair, Stephen Lin; Secretary, Fiona Chau; Treasurer, Ted Ho; Sergeant-at-arms, Kennedy Tsang; Club Administration Chair, Thomas Chan; Service Projects Chair, Dominic Ko; Foundation Chair and IPP, Marvin Lai
