DSG Allocation

4th August 2006

Dear Lead the Way Presidents,

O
n behalf of the District’s DSG Subcommittee, I am happy to advise you that we have received 20 applications from 28 clubs for allocations of the District Designated Fund (DDF) which is set aside for the DSG this year.   Our Committee has met twice and we had a very difficult time in deciding which projects we can fund from the very limited amount of the DSG available for the District this year.  Indeed, we considered all the applications very carefully in the light of the criteria set out for this grant and have also given special emphasis to the extent of Rotarian involvements in the projects, as advised by Steve Townsend of the Foundation during his recent workshop given to us in Hong Kong, and have now decided to recommend to the Foundation that, when our 2006-2007 DSG of US$19,675 is approved, we are going to allocate the grant money as follows:--

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the clubs which have submitted DSG applications for your great support to this very meaningful Foundation program. Whilst congratulating the clubs which are successful in getting allocations, we would like those clubs that do not do so to approach PP Kenneth Chow and PP William Chow, the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the District Grants Subcommittee for help in converting some of your projects into matching grant projects. We thank you once again for your great support to the DSG, and thus the Rotary Foundation. Yours in Rotary, Millie ChunChairperson
