GSE visit to Delhi, India between 29th Jan to 25th Feb., 2012

The Rotary Foundation GSE program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the age of 25 and 40 who are in their early stages of their career. The program provides travel grants to teams of exchange visit in paired areas of different countries. Four four weeks, team members experience the host country’s cultural and institution, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships and exchange ideas. In a typical four-week tour, applicants participate in five full days of vocational visits, 15 to 20 club presentations, 10 to 15 formal visits and social events, 2 to 3 days at the district conference, 3 to 4 hours per day of cultural and site tours, and 3 to 4 hours per day of free time with host families.

For each team member, the Foundation provides the most economic round trip airline ticket between home and host country. Rotarians in the host area provide for meals, lodging and group travel within the district.
This year, GSE will visit RI 3010, comprising the National capital territory of Delhi, a large district with 124 clubs and 5100 Rotarians. There are world class of museums, tombs of famous Indians, such as Mahatama Gandhi, the famous Taj Mahal in the city of Agra, and many grand palaces, gardens and museums with artifacts from ancient India in the city of Jaipur. Delhi is a place full of life. It is a place where the old survives with the new. The famous Mughal emperor, the builder of Taj Mahal once said, ‘if there is a paradise on earth, it is Delhi, Delhi, Delhi’.
