Dear All ,

Good evening and I hope that this message finds you in the best health and happiness.

Thank you for your help and love gifts which was well spent for many of the earth quake victims at Jogjakarta and its vicinity area.

We can only do our best even though our best might not be enough for all of them.

Some how our help were coming timely where the big help from other country were still on the way.

To be homeless and not having anything to eat in a sudden is hard to be.

There isn't place called home any more in 57 seconds when the earth quake was happened.

I am sure that you have seen the terrible sights from TV and news paper but to see them with our own eyes is even harder.

It is not easy to see people who are not able to do the normal thing e.G. From taking a bath in the bath room than suddenly you must taking it the open with a sarong covering you , doing our toilet activities and to sleep ( this is very hard especially for the woman).

We have been teaching the children to eat properly on the table but suddenly there isn't any table and chair to seat nor proper glass or cutlery can be used.

Imagine that we have to share mattresses to sleep with different families under one tent roof and space.

Imagine that these things happened for hundreds of thousand of people ( the news paper said that some 200 000 people are homeless).

The street near my house was laid so many dead body from the next day after the quake till the 31st of May .

The Hospital was forced to take more than 10 times of its capacity .

Simply chaotic.

With friends and relative we have done our best from Jakarta to Jogjakarta , distributing directly to the needy our self.

Trucks were so difficult to get but Praise The Lord that there are 2 trucks that was given to us for free by a brother who has his heart called to help other.

There wasn't any problem on the road nor during our distribution to many places ( even though some places were having some kind riots when the goods are arriving and the amount was so little . This was because people were hungry and there wasn't any help came for them).

A sad case was when I found out that my childhood friend from Bantul must live alone after the quake as all of his family members were gone within the 57 seconds when the earth quake happened.

2 Garuda pilots ( my batch mate ) from Bantul and Kalasan area were sad as their parents home were collapsed .

Many worship places reduced to rubbles too.

Tents are still needed , kerosene lamp , clean water , proper sewage etc.

If there isn't any change , I will be on my way again on the 13th afternoon with SQ 158 after arriving from New York on that morning ( ETA 05:30 AM).

Have a blessed day always.

Budi and family and friends
