Updated May 22 2003

SARS Protection Accesories for Students.
Rotary Club of Kowloon North has donated HK$3,000 to both HKU and HKCU as reported to DG Gloria. In addition we have donated HK$54,000 to St James' Settlement to provide fans and hygiene packs for the elderly and their fight against SARS; and finally, we have pledged to donate HK$40,000 to the WE CARE fund for children orphaned by SARS.

5th May 2003

The Rotary Club of Kowloon North has donated $10,000 to Project Shield, run by the South China Morning Post, to provide protective clothing and equipment for front-line medical staff.

As it is inevitably the poor and the elderly who are most at risk in situations involving public health the Club has also responded to a request from the St.James Settlement (SJS) to purchase 100 floor fans, to improve ventilation in the homes of elderly people who cannot afford them.

The Club has also pledged significant further financial support and is in discussion with SJS on how best to help the most vulnerable in our society at this difficult time.
