RIC office on 22nd April 2003.
The
following brief updates are for your utmost attention and
necessary action.
1.
The official name of the working group is titled as “Rotary
Action Against SARS”. (RAAS)
2.
Members of the Committee:

3.
To express our deepest appreciation and respect to the frontline
medical staffs who work selfless to rescue the patients, two
outdoor TV will be hired for period of one month at the following
location:
a.
Austin Road / Nathan Road – Chaung’s London Plaza
b. Hennessy Road – E Tech Centre
It
will be a daily basis with 18 exposures
4.
At the present stage, Hospital Authority is short of consistent
supply of some protective medical accessories such gown, goggles
etc. As soon as we obtain a specific list of items short,
we will circulate to all and hopefully, we may offer assistance
to solicit the suppliers.
5.
To minimize the infection to their families, the frontline
medical staffs had to stay away from their living homes after
duty. There is an urgent need of 40 accommodation units for
those medical staffs who work in Prince Margaret Hospital
and Wales Hospital.
6.
It has been brought up that long-term education on upgrading
and protecting our living environment in the community is
necessary.
7.
The committee has not reached the conclusion in respect of
a SARS project for the patient and the medical staff yet.
8.
All contributions please issue cheques under the name of “Rotary
International District 3450 – Disaster Relief”
and send to Rotary Information Centre, 14/F Capital Commercial
Building, 26 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
I
earnestly urge all of you to make the best effort to participate
the brainstorm gathering with all current Presidents to be
met on May 2, at the regular club meeting venue of RC of Channel
Islands, World Trade Centre Club in Causeway Bay, at 7:00pm.
The dinner cost is $220.00. Should any of you have idea on
RAAS project, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
The
RAAS Committee will be very much appreciated if any Rotarian
can offer assistance in sourcing the suppliers and providing
temporary accommodation for the “HEROS” in our
community.
Yours in Rotary
DGE Jones Wong
