District Governor's Cups To Award Best Sports Performance

The District Sports & Recreation Committee was pleased to announce that District Governor Gloria Chan has sponsored 2 Champion Cups to award Clubs for the best sports performance during the year. One Cup will be awarded to the Club with "Highest Participation Rate", and the other will be awarded to the Club with "Best Results".

Criteria for the 2 awards will be:

Highest Participation Cup

Participation by Rotarian or spouse in an event, regardless of the number of participants, entitles 1 point to the Club. If there are ties in the final scores, the participation rate in Swimming Gala and Sports Day will be taken into account.

Best Performance Cup

The Host Club of each and every event will report to the District Sports & Recreation Committee on the first 4 best performance clubs of that particular event. Points will be awarded as follows:

Champion Club 40 points
1st Runner-Up 30 points
2nd Runner-Up 20 points
3rd Runner-Up 10 points

If there are joint teams comprising members from more than 1 club, the total points will be divided and be shared amongst the relevant clubs. In case of any dispute, the panel composed of Past Committee Chairman Tony Wong (Happy Valley), Committee Chairman K.K. Kwong (Channel Islands) and the Committee Secretary Claire Mak (Tai Po) will have the final say.
